Hey everyone on the list, I don't use the lists too often but I have some bigtime problems right now with my probe. First of all, it's a 93 base probe (automatic) with about 75k miles. It has no mods (except tons of audio). I just got subs (2 kicker comp 12's with a rockford 600W amp). This might affect the problem. First of all, I had my remote wire and RCA wires run from my deck the other day by a place called Custom Car Audio. Soon after that, it became hard to push my rear window defrost button and the other day it just stopped working period. I don't think it's the fuse but I'm not positive. I think it might be a connection right behind the panel but I'm not sure??? Second of all, the other day, I went to plug my cell phone into the cigerette lighter plug, and that no longer works for some odd reason when before, I was running a neon light off it. So I have no clue why that has all of the sudden stopped working, but everything else seems to work fine besides the rear defrost and the cigerette lighter. Then, to make matters worse, the other day when it got a little bit colder, all of the sudden my car started to run like crap. I never had a probelem with it idling really low before. When it is in park the problem is evident, but not as bad. When it is in drive, reverse, or neutral, the idle speed wants to jump all around and idle really low to the point where the exhust pipe makes more of a putting instead of a smooth sound and the car shakes from the engine almost stalling. Also sometimes, the lights interior and exterior seem to dim when the idle drops low. (This is without the subs even on, as I know they draw a lot of power from the battery) Also the acceleration is terrible and very shaky off the start. After the car is driven even for a little while, there is a burning smell coming from it. Sometimes while already moving the car tends to want to shake a little bit also. Any help with any of these problems would be GREATLY appreciated. My poor baby ran perfectly up until now...what is the deal!?! Thanks in advance, Kevin 93 Base Probe Pioneer Deck, Pioneer Speakers, 2 Kicker 12s, Rockford Amp, Blue Neon

THEY DISCONNECTED YOUR CIG. LIGHTER WHEN ACCESSING THE SPACE , COULD HAVE DONE THE SAME THING WITH THE DEFROST BUTTON, BUT COULD BE JUST COINCIDENCE. TRY DISCONNECTING ALL THE AUDIO STUFF FROM THE BATTERY AND SEE IF IT CLEARS YOUR PROBLEM UP. IF NOT, LET ME KNOW. COULD ALSO BE FUEL PROBLEM. TRY RUNNING TO A LOW TANK AND PUT IN FUEL CLEANER(CHEVRON WITH TECHRON IS GOOD) AND THEN FILL UP WITH PREMIUM TO SEE IF THAT DOES THE TRICK. CHRIS >

You might have bad plug wires and a fouled spark plug. Also the fuel cleaner might work also. Fill your tank up then run the fuel cleaner. I would take the car back to the audio shop. Make them check to see if they might have unplugged that stuff accidentily. Good Luck with everything. Brian '95 SE
