Hi everyone...
I have a 99 F150 with 80K miles. Yesterday, it developed two
problems that might be related.
1) When I shut it off and remove the key, the heater blower keeps on
blowing at whatever speed setting it was at when I shut it off. The
only way to stop the blower from running is to turn the heat
selector to OFF. Before this, whenever I would shut off the
ignition and remove the key the blower would shut off too?????
2) At the same time that problem 1 started, the buzzer/beeper is
acting up. I am talking about the beeper that beeps when you leave
the lights on or the key in the ignition. At least, it sounds like
that same beeper. When the truck has been parked for a long period
(overnight or during the day while I am at work) the beeper will
start to beep after I have driven it for about 10 minutes. It beeps
about once every second for 5 or 6 beeps then pauses and does that
again. It repeats this about 4 or 5 times then it shuts up for the
rest of the ride. This beeper beeps very fast when I leave the
lights on, a bit slower when I leave the key in the ignition and
this "beep" is even slower than that. It did it last night when I
started my 30 mile ride home in the dark with all the lights, heater
etc. on. It did it again this morning, once again in the dark with
all headlights on. As I mentioned before, once it goes through its
little sequence it doesn't do it again. It also did not do it this
morning after it was parked for about an hour. It seems to do it
only after sitting for a long time.
I don't know if these two issues are related but they did come about
at the same time. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going
on????
Thank you in advance
