Hi, I have a 1997 Ford Escort Wagon LX, bought new in 1996. It's hard to find info on what could be wrong with my car these days, as many people seem to just give up and buy another car. I don't have that option right now. My car only has 82-83k and has been very well maintained. Unfortunately, the last 2 summers have cost me and I'm going to have to do another summer repair this week (don't know what yet). Car runs rough on low rpm, especially going uphill. Thanks, Sami

Look closely at your spark plug wires. If you can read the year of their manufacture, 1997 or older, replace them along with the plugs. If there is any doubt as to the condition of your spark plugs or wires, replace them or risk damaging other components. Other than this, you'll need some real hands-on diagnosis.
