I'm new to the probe scene.I just purchased a 93 base probe in great
shape other than the atx beeing shot. You guys won't beleive how much
I paid for it.Are you ready? $300.00 This little rinky dink carlot
had it.It ran very rough and would go dead. They thought it was a
head gasket and when it did'nt solve the problem they figured they
would sell it for what they could get.The ad read " 93 ford
probe,388.00".I didn't even expect it to run.i was gonna buy a motor
for it,but when it cranked and didn't smoke I whipped out 300.00 and
said this is all I got.We barely made to the Auto Zone where we put
plugs,wires,cap,and rotor.Runs like a new car.I've read enough about
the atx in the last couple of days to find out I don't want it.I'm
aware of all that I'll need to do the swap(ie.wire
harness, computer, and linkage),but do any of you know anyone that has
done this swap.I'm trying to get an idea of of how long it will take
and of any problems that I might encounter along the way.
I'm gonna try and get some photos of it and you guys judge for your
selves if I got a good deal or what. Please over look the minor paint
imperfections 'cause my cousin owns a paint and body shop.
i'm thinking of taking photos and notes as I do this.So let me know
if any of you are interested,'cause I debating it.
Thanks Allen
