Mike to be honest, I am a serious stereo nut. I would say it all depends
on what kind of speakers you are using. If you have just the factory
speakers, then it really will not matter what head you are using, if you have
an upgraded speaker system then it will make all the difference, like if you
are running amps, crossovers, subs. There is a lot to consider.
I myself have upgrades all the speakers in my car and I think the Probe
is a great platform to install a great stereo. I placed component 6"
speakers in the front doors, and I am in the process of mounting fosgate 8",
3" and 1" int the rear quarters. I have a sub enclosure in the back with
Kicker 12's right now and have been shopping around for new ones now. This
is all powered by a fosgate 400a4 and a 200a2 amps. I have a coustic
crossover running and will be installing another fosgate amp soon, a 100a2.
The plans I have laid will separate all the frequencies out to the 12
speakers really great. I expect some really rocking sound when I get it
done. Right now all I am missing is the 100a2 and the 12's to make it all
work... BTW I am using a Fosgate CD headunit.
