Having done this exact upgrade, doin the struts at this time isn't such a
bad idea. My stocks were almost dead, when I did mine, but then again, I was
riding on cut coils before. But running on even lowering springs will
accelerate the wear on stock struts as you are running them in a diferent
range than they were intended.
I replaced w/ KYB's as they were stil aftermarket, but cheap enough at $59 a
corner (?) from CB Perf. I believe they're designed more with lowering
springs in mind, but could be wrong. So far, so good (and still semi-stiff).
Lemme tell ya, the ride can be a tad stiff though... ya feel just about
every bump in the road, and yes, I've cut my bump stops.
