Well i finally bit the bullet and put in a new winshield in my Escape. $260. Honestly I didn't think it was that bad. My sunfire was $325 and 2 years ago my windshield would have been over $400. It sure is nice to look out without all the pits in the glass. I currently lease my Escape, i was worried about it being a first model yearm and my lease ends in Feb of 2004. But i was wondering what other people have seen for resale prices of 2001 Escapes. i have an XLT, 4x4, V6, side air bags, towing package, mach system with sub, sidesteps being the basics, with 54,000 kms. I am wondering if it would be better to trade up and into a new 2004 Escape or keep my existing one. Have there really been that many improvements since the 2001 model to justify the change? Thanks, Chris

I had a large crack along the bottom, from the driver's side all the way to the passenger side. Starting and finishing about 5" from the sides, and made a nice little arc about 5" up. Wasn't too pretty. I got the crack Dec of 2001, and prices to replace were very high. And the glare in the mornings on the "sand blasted" windshield was bad. That and my wife has been wanting a new windshield for the past year or so for her car. LOL Chris
