Thanks for showin the pics.I like what you've done to it so far..especially the white on the inside. What did you use to paint it? We are thinking of doin the same to the inside of ours only with blue. See, we have this blue theme going for it..and eventually some cool blue and silver graphics for the outside(Probably after this winter). Im going to post some idea pics for graphics and let people that view the website vote for the one they like best. Give us some ideas and feedback. Keep you posted on that one.
keep up the nice work with yours!!
kaela

ok so painting:
I went to pep boys and bought some white PLASTICOTE spray paint, a bottle of primer and one of clear coat. clear coat is important! :) I took out all of the pieces and masked or whatever, and did this-
1 cleaning with rubbing alchohol
2 coats of primer
3 coats of paint
4 coats of clear

most fo the pieces pop right out, but some are harder. this is how to get each out:

the vents- each vent is a bit different, so don't loose or miss match pieces. to take out the surround you must point teh air vent towards the floor, and then pull it MORE towards the floor, and pop out the vents, then you reac your hand in and pull straight out to get the vent assembly out. you then just take off the vent surround and paint it.

side/defrost vents:
easiest to take out, hardest to paint. just pull them towards their respective sides, towards the door, (directly left or right). I think i may have used a screw driver to dislodge them at first. to paint them i had to paint each angle seprately, since there are alot of parts of the vent that need to be covered. so i ended up putting a ton of paint on it.

radio bezel:
you need a pair of DIN radio pullers, avilable at any good car audio store ,and most bad ones. I got mine at walmart. they go into the two slots on the side of the radio, you grab them with one hand, and squeeze them thogther (i could be wrong, maye apart) and you pull out the radio. take off all the wires ect. you then take out all teh screws and such, and continue to take off the knobs for the fans and heat and stuff, detatch all buttons from the bezel! you should have nothing on it, except maybe the cigg. lighter/power outlet, i couldn't figure out how to get that off.

gauge surround:

a few screws at the top, and it comes off easily enough. the coin tray, or the "booger recepticle" as we call it on focaljet, cna be taken off so whe nyou paint it the paint wont collect in there, i sued a dremel to simply cut it off, and some sort of adhesive to re-attach it after the rest was painted.

the cup holders: rip them out, paint them. tada. make sure to clean them really well though.

center console:
this was the tough painting one. you have to take out the center part of the back cup holder, and expose 3 nuts which hold the console in, take them out, and then under the cup holders there are two screws, take em out. now, pull you emeergency brake all the way up, as far as you cna do it, and take the shift boot from the shifter out fo teh console by prying out the back part first, then pulling it up. now, pull up the console. I had to mask everything around the part I was painting, which was hard. I used lots of scotch tape and newspaper, then cut out an exact design with an exacto. I just painted that simply.

tips on painting: don't spray something too much for coverage, if it's not covering wait 10 min, and give it another coat! also, if you don't like wit, yo ucna give it a different color, or even wimp out and get new parts from ford. have fun.

oh and the pictures, my sister has a kodak digistal camera that takes awesome pictures, so i jus tgo to yahoo photo's hehe... I wish there were more it it.

much love

evan
