Hey everyone.. i have a 94 PSE....my car isnt starting after spending a good 6 hrs on cleaning my car..well i cleaned my rear drums today... excess brake dust causing squeal.... got that done... then started to work on the engine...cleaning with sponge and water.. no spraying with my hose.... wouldnt do that..cleaned most of the engine that way... then started her up.. worked fine.. ran until any water has evaporated... i then took some steel wool to remove some odd looking yellowish-brown stains on my valve cover... got that off.. had to remove the plug wires.. did that one by one from left to right so i wouldnt worry about mixing up the positions... cleaned up any remains by vacuuming the engine bay.. then i used that engine finish on my engine.. made everything nice and shiny just like it was detailed.....well after that i washed and vacuumed the rest of my car..car nice and clean.. come back to car about 1 hr later start her up and no go.. crank crank.. slight start then it dies...then again... crank crank still no go.. 3rd time pedal to te floor crank....... slight start let go of key car dies... tried the same routine again about 1 hr later.. still no go... now what?...car is not starting and im worried i might have to go and bring my car into the dealership.. any help would really be appreciated.. Thanks.. Eugene 94 PSE that is not starting and i want to go and see if i did a good enough job on cleaning my drums..

I did the exact same thing with my car. Take the distributor cap of and you will probably find out why the car is not running well. I got half way to work when my started "petering" out. Turned out my "cap" was just full of water. enjoy, Bryan Pendleton http://members.tripod.com/~bryan_pendleton/indexp.html >

Hey everyone... well my starting problem has somewhat been relieved... i guessed i probably flooded my engine trying to start it up the other night.. well i started my car up yesterday only after i took my plugs out and cleaned them and dried them up...they were covered in carbon probably because of flooding... i also noticed little bits of steel wool that i used when i cleaned my valve covers... well now that ive gotten my car to start it doesnt idle fine... it seems like its miss firing.. if thats the right term... kinda like its just about to stall but it happens every couple of seconds..idle fluctuates and drops to about 250 or so then comes back up....sometimes it only drops about 50-75 rpm.... i remember when i tried to start it up the other time... i cranked and cranked.. then did the thing where u keep your foot on the pedal... then it started for like 3 sec roughly though...then it backfired.. nice type of gunshot sound i guess.. but muffled...so my car starts but is having a rough idle and lots of power loss especially under throttle..... cant figure out if one of the cyls is not firing or if its firing early.. could the steel wool have scrwed things up or have fallen into where the spark plug well is and into the combustion chamber?...could that be causing the problem or could it be bad plugs because of flodding the engine and trying to start it...? any help would really be appreciated.. thanks again bryan for your help.. ill check the cap... see if there is water.. Eugene 94 PSE all i wanted to do is keep my car clean.. "Pendleton,
