I am interested in finding out what grade of fuel everyone uses in their 2.0 engines. I hear so many conflicting stories about octane levels and performance. I personally run lower grade fuel and then every third tank I fill up with the best (when the prices aren't ridiculous). If you have an opinions or an explanations on this, please post it. Thanks for your opinions! Robert 96 pse no mods yet

I run the best gas (92) because of the Superchips ECU upgrade. It is required. I doubt that running one good tank every three is helping you at all, because it takes you car a couple tanks to adjust to a new type of fuel. You're probably just confusing it. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. Later. Jordan http://www.plu.edu/~brooksjt/probe.html

Most of the time I run 89 with E-10. Living around all the farms the money will come back here.

i read somewhere that putting the 92 octane or whatever in our cars isnt good for them. is there truth to that or am i crazy. i know that the people with the superchips reprograms need the 92. but i thought our regular computers didnt know what to do with it. a little help clearing up myu confusion would be nice :) scott 93SE

I use 89 in mine. I figure with the added deposits of 140,000 miles the compression is a little higher now and a few extra octane points couldn't hurt. But I agree, unless your car needs higher octane (knocking or pinging), it's a waste of money. I started running midgrade gas in my car this month. It seems better. I haven't played with it too much though. And it definently doesn't like hi-test. It acts like it wants to stall in the morning.
