I have 2 '95 Rangers. Within a month of each other they both got the same odometer problem. The speedometer works fine but the odometers and tripometers have stopped spinning. This must be fairly common since it happened on both of my trucks but I can't find an answer on the internet. Any ideas?

What ever you find out, please let us know what happened. It is very odd, because the odometer is run off of the spedo cable. Can't say as if I've heard of it. Did you beat on the dash a little? ;-) Chris Robertson Christopher.T.Robertson@...

All I can figure is it must be a failure of some little gear in there. It looks pretty easy to get the instrument cluster out assuming the speedo cable is long enough.

There is a trick in removing the cluster. The spedo cable unhooks from the back of the cluster. You squeeze either side of the bell, where the cable plugs into the housing. I can't clearly explain, but the cable will remove completely. Chris Robertson Christopher.T.Robertson@...
