Hi Everyone!,<br> I love it when someone comes up
qith a post that gets us all thinking and talking.
Makes for interesting reading after a long day's work.
I'm a Auto Tech at a large shop and have been one for
a long time. If you look at your owners manual,
you'll see that oil viscosity is determined largely by
ambient temperature. Basically, the colder it is the
light weight oil you use, same goes for higher temps,
the higher the viscosity you'll use. If you drive
your car hard, like auto cross or Solo than a higher
viscosity is the hot setup. If you're doing normal driving
than 5w20, 5w30 or 10w30 works fine. I use 10w30 Mobil
1. Its a great oil for all temps and engine
conditions. Basically I drive hard sometimes and normal at
others. By staying within the engine guidelines for oil
usage and change intervals you won't void your warranty
