My wife bought me a fixer upper 76 F100 as a gift. It runs pretty good but i know it needs some work. I have noticed that I am getting some oil on my air fliter. what could cause this?

Don't know where your pcv valve return runs, but if it runs to the air filter and the pcv valve is stuck open or is upside down, this could run oil up this tube. If the engine is high milage with bad rings, there could be more oil in the pcv than the system is designed to handle.
