Are you using the 5W-20 oil that Ford recomends. I have used Mobil1 for over 10 years now and it is not made in this stupid vescosity. I was going to use the 5w-30 that I had been using in my previous 4 Ford Vehicles. Also I live in South FL so a little thicker Oil can't hurt. I open this to the board.

5W30 Mobil 1 oil is a very good choice. I use it in all my vehicles. The manual that came with the car (ZX3) says 5W30.

Mine says 5w30 as well. The reason that Ford calls for this is to improve gas mileage (at the expense of engine wear). I use 10w30 except during winter when I use 5w30.

very good point, 5w30 is good for economy. After we get 10k on ours we will switch to 10w30 as well. Certain vehicles such as Suzuki's and Geo Metro's have valve lifters which require 5w30 for proper bleed down. Our Zetec's have no such requirement.
