Someone that has actually had this happen is better suited to happen, but I don't remember
hearing about it.
Regardless of the flashing, from what I hear, it sounds like your transmission isn't getting
enough fluid. Each higher gear requires a progressive amount of fluid.
High revs between gears means a few things
1 torque converter going out
2 inadequate fluid (bad pump, low fluid, clogged filter, bad fluid, etc.)
There are a few things that we need to know to continue. How many miles do you have on the vehicle,
and when was the last time your tranny fluid/filter where changed?
If you say, "I've got over 65/70k, and it has never been changed", bingo!
First thing to do of course is check the fluid. It should be adequately filled and should NOT
look like motor oil.
Can you do the work yourself? If you can respond and we will tell you the tranny fluid/filter
changing process.
If not, go by a reputable transmission shop and have the fluid/filter changed.
Your looking at about 35 for the filter change and 100.00 + for the fluid change.
Around 150 for all, or if you do it yourself, 30.00.
