whats up everyone? i just installed my pacesetter intake on my 2.0 and i got to tell you guys, i love it. ive been reading how the weapon r intake is short and does not pick up cold air from below. the pacesetter has a 90 degree bend in it and it reaches all the way to the bottom opening in the splash guard. right away i felt an increase in top and bottom end torque. i deffinitly recomend this intake. i bought it from p tunning.com but if you go to the nepo page and use the link there you can get 5% off. later. rich duda buffalo, ny 95 2.0

it cost me like $190. give or take a bit for shipping. im almost positive its a cold air intake, the bottom of the filter almost touches the splash guard. im not sure what kind of filter it has but it says pacesetter on it so im assuming they make it. later

i am not saying that its better than other systems cause i personaly dont know crap about cars. i have just read numerous times how other air systems dont pull cold air in, and because of this they dont gain bottom end power, only top end power. that $80 one you seen was probably just a short tube with a filter thats positioned right next to the engine, therefor pullin hot air in. i heard that you gain one hoarse power for every ten degrees colder the air is going in to your engine. the pacesetter air f/x extends all the way down to the splash guard to pull the cold air passing under the car in. and yes there are other cold air system like this that are cheeper. if you look hard youll find one. use a search engine and type in like "ford performance parts" or something. i personaly went with this one because i have heard nothing but good things about pacesetter. in fact im ordering a pacesetter monza cat back exhaust system soon too. hope this cleared things up, later

I emailed pacesetter and asked a price...look what they sent me... Part number 16-1401x is the intake for your car. The suggested retail price is $259.95. Thanks Can you even believe that? I had no idea they would be near that much Justin 96 base

hey freddie, where you finding this probe intake at lightspeedracing.com? I'm really only seeing stuff for acuras, civics, and crx's. Let me know if what you saw was a probe intake or it may have been for a honda. Maybe i just need to know what buttons to click on the browser to get to it. Thanks justin 96 base

Really, so I guess both the Pacesetter and the Weapon-R are both hot air intakes. I'm not really impressed with either of those setups anyway. They might improve intake air flow but still sucks up hot air and lose power (since it places the filter and inlet near the hot engine). On the other hand, the Akimoto and some other intake (can't think of the name right now) are cold air intakes. They place the filter and inlet down low in the engine bay so that it can draw in cooler air and give more horsepower. -Lino Sacman, SCPOC '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd
