Hi Steve, I read your statement about my site. Why didn't you just email me, instead of trying to call me out on the board? That was a cheap shot. The purpose for having a webpage is to offer information to everyone. If I go to a website, and copy some info and kept it for my personal gain would that be stealing? No. But if I copy it and post it for others to have a resource, I would think that is considered "sharing the wealth". Now, if I cut-paste info from someone?s page and at the bottom, annotated, "Written by Torrienta Pappageorgio".....THAT would be stealing, in my book. Different people visit different Probe pages. I go to ALL of them, all the time, to get as much info as possible. Have you seen me take credit for a page written by someone else? No. Nor will I ever. Refer to my disclaimer. I'm sure Ross, and just about all the other Probers have visited my page at one point in time, and my disclaimer clearly states that if I have something from their page, and they want credit, email me, I'll happily put there name on it. But if the author doesn't care, I don't. But I won't remove the information because it is viable, if it is on my page. Everyone one with a performance page has cut-and- paste info from other pages, even if it's menial. Anyone who tells you different is a flat out liar. There is alot of info on my page that I write, and have no problem with someone using it on their website for other Probers to view. Also, anyone who has info that I use, or refer to, usually has a link in my link section. I'll be the first to admit that I cut-and-paste from anywhere there is good, beneficial information. There are barely any resources for 2.0L performance, and other than Bryan and Carlos's Pages, not many in-depth, informative sites for us. And most surfers don't have the time to surf the numerous Probe & Retail performance sites. So information has to be "pooled". The "good" GT pages have alot of (non-engine-specific) info that can go either way. That's what I target. What's wrong with that? CAN SOMEONE POST THIS ON THE OTHER BOARD, I STILL CAN'T POST, I DON'T KNOW WHY. THANKS ~ Torrienta www.geocities.com/Motorcity/1377

I am not trying to stir up a brawl here, I love all you guys & girls 8-), but whether it is a book, movie, song, or website, copying someone elses work without giving credit to that author/writer/etc is plagiarism. Personally, I would want to document anything I have taken from someone elses site, simply because it may very well be wrong information, otherwise you will be held responsible for the sharing of wrong information. Call me a liar, 8-), but everything on my site came from my on "head", hence all the grammatical mistakes. 8-) I will not put anything on my site unless I can back in up with physics, testing or some form of viable research. Now thats just me, but certainly I feel credit should be given to the author of any work copied. Now certainly the sharing of general auto performance knowledge should not be considered plagiarism, unless of coarse it copied directly. Take the time to write in your own words or give credit to the original author. Thank you. Enjoy, Bryan Pendleton >

I beg to differ, Plagiarism is when you take credit for someone else's page. I collect so much info, from so many pages, that I don't even bother trying to keep track of every little quote. I don't put my name to the script, and my disclaimer explains the rest. I'm not trying to be an erogant asshole, but I have the most informative 2.0L page. Offering the most information & links, to all 2.0 Probers. Averaging 50+ hits a day. In order to do that, I have to offer a wealth of information. That has been my goal since I start the page a short 6 months ago. I consider myself doing a favor to other Probers by going to all the sights, using search engines, and chat rooms, to gather info for them to review. Sort of like, one stop shopping. I don't see anything wrong with that. The only think I consider wrong, is using a link directly to someones page. I see alot of that. Now, that's bullshit! I write alot of the stuff on my page, but I also provide "cut and paste" from other pages, if it's good. And if I see good info, what's the use of trying to re-word it? As far as backing up information. It would be impossible to give stats on every mod available for the 2.0 that is on my page. Nor would I want to. I just want to show what is available. ~ Torrienta

I have to agree with Torrienta on this one. I love the fact that his page is a compilation of the best of all the other Probe pages. That way I don't have sift through all the crap on 5 million other Probe pages to read the 5 paragraphs that are any good. And lets face it, most pages are mostly crap, however most pages also have a few good jewels of information. All Torrienta is doing is condensing those jewels of good info for every one. Besides this shouldn't be an issue, if Torrienta copied something from you shoot him an e-mail about it and he'll give you a by line. If he didn't copy it from you it's not your business. -Patrick 'frankyjoe@... P.S. Torrienta, I love your page. I'm one of those 50 hits every day - Still waiting for the brake page though!
