This groups seems pretty dead. I'm sure I'll get lots of help on this. Our '68 is the original pale yellow (and it is in great shape considering) but needs touch-up this spring and painting in the fall. 1. What's the name of this color? 2. Where do I find the paint code? 3. Where do I find the paint once I have the code? - touchup paint? - spray can? Thanks, folks! Sean

I think it was called "sunshine yellow", but don't take that as gospel. 2. Any paint shop should be able to pull it up out of their computer or old books. When I say paint shop, I mean auto body paint shop. If I were at my shop,I could pull it up for you. There is also a book on Mustang restoration that lists them. 3. Find the paint at the auto paint shop that got you the code. Avoid the cheap spray paints at the big auto parts places like Auto Zone. Try to find a good quality spray gun, and buy a pint or so from the auto paint place. Any other questions, llet me know and I'll try to help! Chris --

Also, old paint is certainly faded and new paint, although correct, will look terrible. For touch-up, have a can mixed to match your CURRENT paint color (take a sample in to the paint store) then respray the whole car this fall with the correct color. Free advice -- probably worth what you paid... rick > >This groups seems pretty dead. I'm sure I'll > >get lots of help on this.
