I have some questions about my little Ranger. I have a 93 Ranger, V6 3.O, 5-speed. Runs really good so long as I keep the midgrade fuel in it. I still feel some hesitation and skipping at first start and at highway speeds. I am thinking about replacing the plugs, wires, cap and button. 75k on the truck right now. Fuel mileage is around 20-22 around town, which surprises me. I want to get the hesitation out but I do not want to loose that fuel mileage. Can someone make their recommendations about that? I have thought about doing the whole high output coil and cap and bigger plug wires and the headers with straight exhaust and all that. But will any of it be worth it? Thanx Trae

I had the same problem with my 94 ranger, slugish on start ups and then when you gave it gas it felt like you were chocking it, then it started to speed up. At higher speeds felt like the engine was skipping. Changed MAS and TPS, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and cut the guts out of the cats with no change. Took it to a little shop by my house,,,,guess what, the distributor was 15 degress off, a check of the distributor gears showed large amount of wear and chewing...90K on mine...need new cam and distributor...thinking about going with a little bit of a higher end speed cam, but not much...cutting guts out of the cats got a little more hp, even when truck was sick, hope this helps superman0519@...
