Ok the car is happy now, and I didn't spend the $300 dollars on the control module for the fan like ford wanted me to do, not that the bad fan wouldn't have fried it with in a week anyways, which would have been another $200 for the fan. So here is the fan that I got, did the 14" because it pulled the same as the larger ones, with less rotating mass, or whatever http://www.alamomotorsports.com/pmc/Cat_page16.html I went with the fan controller from Pepboys, adjustable from 90 to 285 degrees, so I can turn it down in summer and up in the winter. The bonus is it will run two fans, it cost like $50, so I can add an aux fan if need be later, like to an oil cooler or whatever. Would be useful on an SC intercooler fan, which I don't have. When I pulled the top hose off of the radiator it was cracked, the radiator neck that is, just a matter of time before it blew out past the hose so I went ahead and replaced the radiator too. Wasn't as bad as I thought, got one from the local salvage yard for $80. It looked new and pressure tested great at the local radiator shop, and they cleaned it out for me too, since it had been sitting for awhile. The 180 degree thermostat was like $10 with the new gasket So it cost me like $270 to completely redo the the cooling system on the bird, it works great. Cools better than before, and the new fan hardly pulls any current from the electrical system, which is good since I need all I can get with the draw from the amps in the trunk ;) The needle on the volt guage says in the middle for the first time ever now!
