Chance that water got inside the spindle bearings and caused corrosion, this corrosion will kill bearings in a flash, all it takes is to drive the vehicle in high water and park it for a number of days.
I know this because my 88 Aerostar needed the passenger side inner bearing replaced soon after we returned from a 16 day vacation, just before we went on vacation we drove it in high water due too a lot of rain. If we would have drove it long enough for the bearings to heat up and the water to evaporate nothing would have happened. Also the inner bearing rotor seal was bad in the first place letting the water in.

I just bought it, it needed a ball joint, fixed that. (ALL THESE THINGS WERE ON THE SAME SIDE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE) Then the caliper was sticking, replaced the caliper. Then the axle was clunking, replaced the axle. Then the bearing were going bad, replaced hole spindle, and drove it about 2 miles, made a sharp turn and the bearings disinigrated. The spindle was a junk yard one (but we checked it and there was no play, checked it again after putting it on and was still good)
What can it be ??? Please help ...
Also can I get a spindle or other parts off another year or another make of vehicle, someone said I should be able to replace the spindle w/1 from an explorer or ranger.
Its the electronic four wheel drive.
