A transmission is a pretty expensive piece of hardware. It probably isn't going to be a big deal, but isn't it worth your piece of mind to do a drain / refill? Even if you take it to a shop its only going to run you $80. . instead of $1000 for a new tranny installed. HTH - Hadrian 96 Ranger 2.3L 96 Camry 2.2L 91 MR2 2.0T Marty Palucska

Before you go to all that trouble... have a good tranny shop check your drive shaft and make sure it is not slightly bent or warped. My son had that same problem with his jeep cherokee and me and a friend of mine BOTH missed it. He finally took it to a good shop and they searched for 2 days before figuring out the drive shaft was slightly bent. p.s. I did ask my son where he went off roading at to bend his shaft and he won't tell me!! :( I wanna go there too!!!
