I have a 92 Sport Coupe and am having trouble with my power steering. I have to add some every week. What could be the problem. Is it a hose?

You will want to check your attachment points on your hoses. There are O-rings on the end of the hoses that sometimes need to be replace. It could also be that the seals in your rack have gone bad. Look around under the car. You should be able to find were the fluid is going!

I transplanted power steering into my 67 from a 71 granada ( I think ) and boy is it the rickitiest setup i've ever seen... I'm still weighing options on how to replace it with an up to date getup without it costing $4k -Dave

How's the Power Steering (PS) fluid level?     Jaime
88 TC.
HELP.  I have a 1991 Aerostar, 3.0. Changed power steering pressure
hose 2 Saturdays ago. Now power steering acts funny. When not moving,
hard to turn wheel. When front end is off ground works ok. When
moving, works strangely, when turning, power
steering stops and starts. Any ideas?

The system was probably full right after the hoses were changed. However, there was also air in the system. Most power steering systems have to be cycled from full left to full right and back several times to get all the air out of the system, requiring more power steering fluid to be added as needed. I agree, worked until the wife was coming home Tuesday night. Even went under it last night and loosened up 3 fittings to drain air.
