Well, the shifter is in, but we haven't driven it yet. But it feels great, very positive. Only problem we encountered was the shifter initially touched the heat shield directly beneath it. I fixed this with two O-rings and six washers to move the front of the shield down and its fine now. We didn't have to drop the exhaust, just removed all the H/S bolts and pulled the shield down and back. Another thing we ran into was the plastic ring on the shift boot broke during removal, so the knob cant tighten down all the way and still be straight. Can a boot from a 626 or MX6 work? (I dont think I can find a Probe locally) Hopefully someone can let me know before 5pm or so, maybe I can chase one down. Thanks! Dedric Ramsey dedric@... http://www.avana.net/~dedric/

Thank you very much Dedrick. I assume this installation was on your brother PSE. It is certainly nice to finally verify that the "Probe GT" shifters work on the 2.0L Probe as well. Bryan Pendleton >

No problem. They really are great, just on looks alone its higher quality and better looking that the stock unit. I think any probe owner 2.0 or 2.5L, will appreciate the benefits. I did fix the boot sliding down, I just used a o-ring on the shaft of the shifter, and that holds the boot up. Others suggested washers, but I dont think the ones I tried were thin enough, but they could work as well. The only other problem you might have if on a 93 (94 as well?) Probe, the knobs for those cars seem to be different that the other years, which work fine. Dedric Ramsey dedric@... http://www.avana.net/~dedric/
