Ok guys got the damn thing back together really changing a head on a probe se is really easy it only took me 2 hrs to get the whole thing apart but as my dad says it's the putting it back together is were you run into your problems' how true the manifold bolts on the intake are a bitch but any ways I took my valve cover and bought some high temp paint ford 601 blue and ceramic primed it after I pressure cleaned it and sand blasted it and the paint adheared really nice a gloss cot finish I taped off the letters and the valve connections I'll take some pics and show you guys. any way after all the crap I put in it the cams and the valve springs plus the grind job it dyno's out at about 163 roughly 160 hp kind of exciting gotta check the fluids and I'll take her out to the open road and let you know what kind of speed she has. later Blake

actually, it was about a 48 hp jump, the car comes from the factory with a 115 horsepower rating.  as far as i know, he put pulleys, cam gears, and had the head shaved, ported, polished and got a 3 angle grind job on it.  that should be a significant gain in horsepower...id have guess maybe20 horsepower but it it made 40 or so....wow...and yes, if it was at the wheels thats a 60+ horsepower gain.....how did u dyno it? lemme know bro.

Hey Jeremy well to say the least I was suprised my self I didn't get to see the dyno but my brother works ar project D downtown and I let him take it today I had to work which sucks but when I got home he said that the probe hit about 160 hp to the rear tire's I wish I could have seen my baby run but he said it was pretty impresive compaired to the other probes they have had in there not the v 6 though I'd still get my ass kicked by a moded v 6 he said which also sucks but I would much rather loose to another probe in a race than a civic like his hehehe. Thats how I had the dyno done. talk later Blake >

u mean front tires.  lol....and thats cool.  just so you know 160 hp in that 4 banger will hang with, if not beat, a probe gt man.  they only make like 140 if that to the front tires.  if ur online, get on msn

Hi Blake, Is there any way you can post the plot from your dyno run? I'd very much like to see that. I've been part of the Probe community for many years now, including this list and ProbeTalk and this is the first time I've seen engine mods to the standard 4-cylinder Probe engine produce THAT MUCH GAIN in horsepower. The stock 4-cylinder Probe engine is rated at 110hp to 115hp at the crank and only 89hp to 93hp typically at the wheels In comparrison the stock 6-cylinder Probe GT engine is rated at 164hp at the crank and only produces typically about 132hp to 138hp at the wheels. Now the J-spec FSZE 4-cylinder engine is rated at 180hp to 190hp at the crank and typically yeilds 160hp to 165hp at the wheels. This is about the similar hp rating you are getting from your modded 4-cylinder engine. That's around 70hp (or roughly 76%) power gain from engine mods alone. A 76% gain is PHENOMEALLY HUGE for mods to an engine that is still normally aspirated, and whoever modded your engine should be praised for his CLEARLY OUTSTANDING skill. -Lino Sacman, SCPOC Hybrid '93/'95 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd

hey whats up I will ask my bro for the dyno sheet and post it on monday but see the praise really isn't all that deserved all we did was spend a little bit of money on those damn expensive jap parts down at my brothers work they have j spec and spoon engines in stock so we just took a little feild trip and pulled one down to its under wear to see what they threw in that thing, I just ordered some of the same modified parts for it like a flat top racing cam new heads which are bored out a bit the titanium springs new intake performance injectors and a shaved head with some light weight oil for smoother running suggested by the owner of pro D some dual exhaust and some 20's for rims and some new tranny gears my bro came up with most of the idea's for it after working on those damn civics. I've been thinking about a turbo but the only thing holding me back is how much work is involved in stuffing one of those monsters in there. Yeah I think I finally acheived my goal in making that peice of work into a drag car that can hold it's own against those foreign cars. I still have my lightly moded 93 se that I use for driving around the 94 just sits until oh say a friday night were I know there is a lot of street racing going on down at red rock then I bust the black buety out and show those rice burners who is boss. haha well thats it for now talk later Blake >
