Hey guys got the new intake on and I tried to start the damn thing and it wont start I had to put a new timing belt on and I made sure that the cam marks and the crank shaft marks lined up ? what the hell is the matter I checked all the vacum lines what could this problem be I made sure the fuel pump was working cause it was new and as soon as I removed the fuel rail the pressure released and the gas came out so I know it's not the problem all the injectors are new and the harnesses the manifolds have been torqued and new gaskets could it be the head ? I had the intake ports ported along with the exhaust ones to allow better flow along with larger valves but this was all done in the machine shop by proffesionals ? help please later Blake

what kind of intake....is it cold air from the throttle body down? if so without the mass air meter your computer may not be able to register proper fuel ratios...not sure on that, its one reason i never got the cold air for my car.  does it crank and just not kick over or what? i need more info to give ya a little better diagnosis.  lol
peace

blake....
hmmmmmm....im a little confused myself....are you sure that sometimes its sparking and not every time? try checking this....it would be odd to get spark sometimes rather than never or always...you may have a bad ignition module, you may have a bad distributor cap, ummmmm check all of your sensors replace all that need it, check the fuel pump and fuel filter, as well as the injectors, etc...check the fuel lines and such to make sure youre getting enough fuel to fire over, etc.  many possible problems, hate to tell ya so.

when you put your intake on, make sure all connecters on trans. sensors are in tight. if any come loose it will crank but not start. good luck, and let us know if that was the problem. Bill 95 SE
