I bought an AEM short tube intake a few months ago, it was working fine until the check engine light came on and stayed on. I got it by a mechanic and they said that the computer told them that there was something in the tube but when they checked it there was nothing in there. I was wondering maybe the intake was defective. if someone has a similar problem or has a solution please let me know.

when was the last time you oiled the filter? It's possible that the MAF is fowled by something. If you have recently oiled the filter the MAF could have become coated. Or possibly you need to oil the filter because particles are getting past the filter. Just some ideas.
