What kind of problems did you have?  The surfaces should have been prep'd (cleaned and degreased) and dry so that the paint will adhere well. Use Simple Green and a bristle brush. Remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper and use a wire coat hanger to hang it off to the side. For masking the rotors, pads, struts/springs you can wrap them easily using some aluminum foil. Hope this helps.        -Lino Sacman, SCPOC       '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd

Thanks   That's a good idea but two bolts for calipers. I don't get that. When I changed my brakes last time I only took one of bolt out of the front(didn't see a second) and I couldn't figure out how to change the rear.(which if anyone could help me with that I would also be greatly apreciative) thanks   Jer '96 PSE

The 1 bolt that you're talking about only allows you to SWING the pads and caliper on its HINGE.  There are 2 OTHER bolts that actually hold the entire caliper assembly in place. If you ever had to remove the rotors you'd know what I'm talking about.  Removing these 2 bolts allows you to move the entire caliper assembly off of the rotors.
The rear brakes on our 4-cylinder Probes are drum brakes and are much more complicated to remove and replace that the front disc brakes. If you're into the look you can also paint the outer casing of the drums. I've seen others do it but I personally don't like the look. I'll wait to do the drum-to-disc conversion on the rear and paint the calipers then.        -Lino Sacman, SCPOC       '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd

If you got 4 wheel disc brakes already on your PSE then I'm jelous!  =P     From what I know that's rare and is an option that is not standard for any of the 4-cylinder 2nd gen Probes.  It requires brake components of the PGT including spindles, calipers, master cylinder & E-brake.  Do you also have ABS ?        -Lino Sacman, SCPOC       '93 Rio-Red PSE, 5-spd

BTW Jer,   Here's a link to Brian Young's website. http://www.mtco.com/~westcj/Brian/images/caliper5.jpg He painted his calipers also and you can clearly see the 2 mounting bolts that I'm talking about.

Yep. My car is hooked up. That's what I was told . . . it came with some sort of special package(some of the gt stuff). So I'm not bitching cause my car stops on a dime!
