My '93 Aerostar is running fine but I have been noticing that the AirBag light is blinking on and off, and the Cruise Control quit working, and the check engine light comes on after driving about 100 miles. Also the horn quit working at the same time as these other problems. Is there a problem in the steering column? Anyone else every had a problem like this, and if so how did you fix it? thanks -- Best Regards, ~John, pagemaker@...

The same thing happened to my 88 cougar, with the cruise control and the horn. I don't have an air bag and the engine light did not come on .Behind the steering wheel there is a plastic gismo, and contacts for the horn and cruise control. The plastic gismo broke, and the contacts were worn down. I pulled the steering wheel off and fixed the problem myself. Got the parts from the Ford dealer. You might have a problem pulling your wheel though since you have the air bag. Hope this was of some help. Andy 88 Cougar, 96 Aerostar, 55 Ford Ranch Wagon
