I was going to pay $750 to have a new top put on my 88 GT Convertible, that included the top, pads, and glass rear window. On the mustangs unlimited web site I found the same thing for $285. I've never put one on nor has anybody else I know...... I need some advise, $400 is alot to save but is it worth it????How hard are these to install. Please let me know your thoughts.....

Be Careful, man !!! Those things are hard as hell to install ! You will need at least 2 people to help you. I mean dont get me wrong I dont doubt your mechanical prowess, but tops are a difficult thing to install. Thats why there are shops that do nothing but install convertible tops. <br>When my car got broken into last year they cut my top to get in. I went to the shop and watched them install my top for a while and I was amazed that it was that much work. (The crazy part is that even with me there watching they still didnt get it on there right.) Save the money if you must, but when it starts leaking or its mounted crooked, just remember you have nobody to go and scream at but you have 400 bucks more in your pocket (temporarily).
