I have a 86' F-150 with a 302. Last saturday I blow a core plug on the drive side of the engine under the header. I can't get to it so i took it to a garage in my town and they told me because of where it is placed it the engine would have to be pulled, and they would go ahead and change all the plugs because if one went then it would be possible that the others might be about ready to go also. they are wanting to charge 600.00 to do it. what i'm wondering is the fair price or am i getting ripped off......

The price is probably about right. You are paying for about $500 in labor, and at the most $100 in parts, if that. Mechanics in my area are charging about $85/hr, and to r/r a motor usually takes more than 4 hrs in a shop. They got a point too, if one freeze plug has blown, the others are likely. Bruce in Seattle
