I have a '91 Explorer XLT with 120k on it, I purchased it
approximately 2 months ago and have been having issues with it, the
first time was after we went and had the cooling system flushed after
discovering a sticking thermostat, and the tank to radiator seal was
starting to let go, so I went back to the place where I bought the
truck, and they replaced it with a temporary radiator until the right
one came in.
When the new one came in they installed it, and failed to notice that
once up to temperature it was GUSHING anti-freeze out from the lower
left hand corner, and we had to have it towed back to the shop (later
we discovered that it was the wrong one), they then replaced it with
the correct one, and we went on for about 3 weeks, once again had it
let go in the same spot, but this time it was only leaking anti-
freeze when the truck was not running.
We took it to another shop to have them do it instead of the dealer,
and it was pointed out that the 3rd radiator was defective (or
improperly installed).
My question is this... Has anyone had a similar instance where they
went through radiators so fast?
