Hey Gents; looks like I have to change my bushing on the radius arms. Has anyone ever done this and what should I expect?

Are there any tips that would make the job easier, too?

I have a 84 XLT. The bracket is riveted and bolted to frame.

As always, thanks in advance.

This is one of those brute-force jobs. What you'll need to do is jack up the frame. The best way to get the bushings out are to drill out the rivets and replace them with bolts. You can also take the tire off and try to manuver the radius arm out of the bracket, which is a task. To reassemble everything, a handy tool to use is a come-along to pull the radius arm back through the radius arm bracket. Personally, i like the Moog bushings for the radius arm. Good Luck!

M- What year Explorer and how many miles? What's the guess on life expectancy for front end parts like that assuming "normal" driving? Hey, and what's this maintenance site you referred to in your email? Thanks.
