i had a similar problem, and it was the harmonic balancer

I had the same problem, the car would shake like hell. It turned out to be the harmonic balancer which is right behind the underdrive pulley. Start your car look under the hood, right behind the pulley and if it's rotating as if it looks like it is warped then its that. If it is don't drive the car you can cause major engine damage.
