Man, I was just doing that last night. You have to remove the entire interrior panel including the pillar panel ( where the seatbelt comes through). If you look at where the seat back meets the panel you will see two plastic retainer push-pins. Remove them. Next pry around the edges with a body panel pry tool ( DON'T USE A SCREW DRIVER). After it's loose lift up and pull towards the door. This is the hardest panel to remove and get back on! So be careful.

Did the pin on the front of the B-pilar break when you tried to pull it out? I have a 2000 ZX3 and the head of the pin on both sides just snapped right off!

No but I had to use a screwdriver to get it out. It's marred now :( I don't listen to my self. Careful with the metal clips on the body as they can pop off and fall down. Then the only way to get them back is to pull the exterior panel off.

Just to let you all know who are following this; I installed a Kenwood KDC-519 head unit and four Kenwood 3-ways ( I can't remember their model name). I ordered everything from Crutchfield so I got the custom harness and adapters. Sure saved my butt. Another but and maybe not so big is I still had to solder the deck's harness to the custom harness.

Man now I know why I stick to computers as far as hobbies go :) It's easier to build a quad Xeon with a 6 disk RAID array in a 4 U rack and install RedHat on it than it is to remove just one panel in this car. But when you get it done you feel like the world is at your mercy.

BTW I almost forgot. I'll post pics after I get off work tonight. It looks cool about all I can say at this point. Now I all I need is twin 15" subs on 2x 1000watt amp setup. (drool)
