Ok, I know to anyone who is on the Probe-Perf. list this has been discussed for the past few weeks, but it seems everyone has a different answer. I live in NC where the lows in the winter are usually in the high 10's to low 20's and the highs in the summer are usually in the 80's or low 90's. What would you recomend for manual trans. fluid? MTL or MT-90? I thought of going with 2 MTL to 1 MT-90. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks, Mike

Almost all liquids, including motor oils and tranny fluids, become more viscous as the temperature decreases. In other words they become "thicker" at lower temperatures. If you are going to replace the factory manual transmission fluid with an sythetic, the MT-90 is the fluid of choice because it is formulated to replace 90W gear oils, which are transmission have from the factory. Now if you lived in a climate which did not have 80 degree summers, perhaps the less viscous MTL could be justified, but I would recommend MT-90 for your application, Mike. Your winter temps, would justify the less viscous MTL, but I would still go with the MT-90, based on your summer climate. In the end, Mike you will be he one to make the ultimate descision, so just take what you have learned and make your best educated descision. It will probably not make a bit of difference either way you go. Hope that helps. Enjoy, Bryan Pendleton >
