I put in two new speakers in the doors of my '95Se and it sounds great. My next project is to do the same in the back. From what i have seen it doesn't look like the back covers just snap off. How does one go about getting to these speakers in the rear? Thanks.   -Mike

Well its a bitch if u don't want to crack anything. U have to start from the back ( in the trunk)those back side panels over lay the panel next to your speaker . Its not hard just takes time and patience. Just make sure u have 5 by 7 speakers. I had a size to big and I had no speakers for a day it sucked. Junior 93 base Throbbin system

Crutchfield's guide says that the back speakers are 6x8 ones. But I guess a 5x7 could be a reasonable fit. How long did it take you to take everything apart and get it up and going again? Just looking for a time estimate, because I think I may want to make it a Saturday morning project. Any recommendations for back speakers? I was going to go Pioneer 6x8's, I just put Premier 6.5's in the front and they sound good now and I am happy with how they came out. I found that if you put Silicone caulking around them, it reduces rattle and gives the speakers a little give. Thanks. -Mike

well it takes about 2 hours at most to do it right and put it back together. I have pioneer 5x7 as well in the rear they sound very good and have lasted quite a while. My friends dad owns a car audio shop where I live and he looked it up in some book and they fit. If u have premier 5.25 in the front pioneer is a good way to go. If u want better sound take a little extra time and cut 6x9 slots where the rear speakers are and get the silver series premier's. I love pioneer premier I have the P900 and had the large silver series 2 channel amp with 2 12in premier subs they blew my side mirror out of the casing. Enjoy unclipping everything it will be well worth it. Junior 93 base throbbin system

I don't know what this guy is talking about. Factory speaker sizes are 6.5" in the front and 6x8/5x7" in the back. 5.25's will work in the back as well...but only 2 screws will hold it in place, which from personal experience, I would not recommend. MULTI 94PSE

You put 5.25's in the front? Weird. But I have also installed more complete systems than I can count and I know for a fact that the front door speakers are 6.5's. Check your Crutchfield if you doubt it. There is no speaker size difference in any Probes, regardless of 1st gen or 2nd gen. MULTI 94PSE

ya mike i just replaced my 4 speakers in my probe i put eclipse 6 1/2 in the front and 5 x 7 in the back they are the best speakers i have heard they are alittle pricey 125 for my front and 145 for my back, the back panels were pretty easy to take off up by the seat belts there are 2 screws, and one back by the hatch when you remove the panels be careful when pulling them off, they just pull off, hope this helps Rick 94 base some mods nice system >
