Ok... 99' Sport was the leader... I really like it, it is kind of hard to drive though at 75 with 25 mph winds... I'm hoping new tires and ball joints will help that a bit. So my question... How can I reprogram the keypad entry system, I don't have a manual. Thank you! Toni

Congrats Toni! Now stay away from them lightpoles with it - OK? LOL! Can't help ya with the reprogramming - I'm out of town and away from my manuals. If no one helps first, I'll get back to ya next week. PigHead

Funny! Suddenly now that I have a new car, everyone's warning me about those lightpoles that jump out in front of you with no warning! It was funny about the 1st (no, it was never funny...) :o) Seriously no control on ICE isn't fun... :o) I haven't heard from anyone about reprogramming the door, so that would be great if next week you can point me in the right direction! Thank you! Toni

Finally back home! OK - here is what the manual says: 1. In order to re-program, you need the factory-set code. If you don't know it, it is located on the owners wallet card (which I guess you don't have) - BUT it is also taped to the computer module (hope it is still there for you). Without the factory-set code you are screwed. (Maybe the dealer can help?). 2. To program your own code, Enter the factory-set code. Press the 1/2 button within 5 seconds. Enter your own 5 digit code. 3. There are various other functions available on the keypad. Too much to type here. If you want I can scan and email to you. Hope that helps. Keith Toni wrote ... Thank you, I found the manual as a PDF on the Ford site, and not having the wallet card or any idea where the computer module was I went by the Ford Dealership they crawled under the dash and the code was no longer on the computer module either! So it looks like I'll be paying $40 for them to retrieve the code from the computer...which stinks.. Good thing though, I bought a keyfob from Ebay and it came yesterday... $15 vs. the $45-$60 the dealership wanted makes me feel a bit better... Now some way to get around being charged $25 for an extra key...and the programming fee for that would make me even more happy! :o)

Yeah - mine didn't have it on the computer either. I know it is a long shot, but before going to the dealer and paying $40. I would punch in some random codes for about 15 minutes. Mine takes 5 numbers, each a separate key, with one repeat - ie no 1,2 code, which would be the same key in sucession. There is probably a patern to these numbers. What would happen if you wrote to ford customer service and gave vin #, asked for code? worth 37 cents. George   On Tue, 23 Mar 2004 19:12:34 -0000 "Toni Eichholz" <

Random codes? My calculation shows 30240 combinations/permutations - LOL!! Good luck! I would try the dealer to see if they can help. Keith
