A while back, I noticed a message that said step by step how to reset the engines computer. I want to reset mine, but the message accidentally slipped into the trash on me, and the trash was emptied. So, if anyone could explain it to me, I would greatly appreciate it, Thanks, Dominick 94 se No mods, but a kick ass sound system

Hey, this is how you do it: Unplug your negative battery terminal, wait 10 minutes, hold your foot on the brake pedal for 20 seconds, reconnect the terminal, start the car, let it idle for 10 minutes, then drive it in the city and highway. Should take about 50 miles for it to relearn everything and for you to feel the power come back. It helped my gas mileage by 3 mpg, and i noticed a performance increase. Good luck... Tim 93 SE

Sorry i am replying to this so long from when it was first sent out..but i want to do it now and was wondering if you have yto drive it all 50 miles right after you reset it? and if it would be wise to drive the car hard or normal...i was thinking hard because that may increase performance...but im not sure...thanks Josh 95 SE >

The way you drive your car after the comp is reset is the way it "learns" to be driven, so if you drive real fuel economic, then you wont get much out of it. But as my experience goes, ive learned that its really not even necessary to reset the computer, most the cars I've owned and all the ones that have a complex computer in them the pick your driving style up after 10 starts and driving it around aggressively or slowly.
