Hi there this is my first post. So I hope I'm doing it right. I'm having trouble with my rheostat....It's the thing that controls your guage and climat lights. It keeps blowing on me, and leaving me in the dark. It's really hard not to speed at night when you can't see you speedo. Now ive replaced the rheostat a number of times. and ive determined that it isnt that....so im wondering maybe if its something to do with my stereo install...It was done professionally, however i have experienced other shorts b/c of it. IF anyone knows anything about this or has experienced simmilar troubles please let me know. Im going away till saturday, so I wont be here to thank each of you who helps personally. So thanks in advance! Derek C. 93 PSE

Some one may have used the reostat wire to hook it to a power feed for the radio. Its drawing too much from the reostat. That's my idea. Carolyn 96 SE >

I was going to say the same thing. If I was you, i would rewire the radio power. In the fuse box under the hood, look fo an open circuit and use it. That or put in a block right off your battery and make sure you use an inline fuse. These are available at all radio shops and even radio shack. Make sure you have the right wire for the amount of amps you are going to pull with it. Keith 96SE
