Hey all, I'm looking to upgrade the whole look of my vehicle (and obviously the first place to go is rims), and I was wondering what's the biggest that anyone has succesffully put in without modifcation to the car?  I'm looking at getting 17's, but I'm thinking I would have to get some pretty thin tires to fit in there.  Suggestions?   -Jaime

17's are no problem. you don't need thin tires either. i have 17's with 215/45 tires and lowered with Intrax and i still have a 2 inch wheel gap. i'm planning to get some 225/45 size tires. even 18's would be no problem. maybe with 19's you would have to go super low profile and 20's would fit only with modifications.

just to let you guys know that i had serious problems with 215/40 size tires they were too thin. the ride was too rough and i was afraid that my rims would get bent so i got 215/45's doesn't seem like a big diff but it made me feel alot more safer and secure about driving on those tires. get 215/40's if you want but i'm telling you from experince its not much protection and you can feel every little bump but then again i drive in Boston where the roads are shitty so if your streets are well paved go for it. just some advice

i had a set of 17 inch are twisted tuners. i had 45 series tires on them and had now problems except that the wheels were weak. i bent them hitting a pot hole but never messed up the tires. i've got a set of 18 konig toxxins. i have 40 series tires on those still have had no problems. i've hit some pretty hard potholes. if bigger is what you want go with some 18s, they look superb. peace out chris 96 pse too many mods to mention.

With the 18's and 40 series tires, did you have to readjust your speedometer? If so, how much does that run? Thanks! -Jaime >
