It really upsets me to say it, but yesterday I was in a bad car accident, in
my probe. I was driving along at 40 mph, minding my own business, and this
woman (go figure) pulls out of a parking lot right in front of me. I
slammed on the brakes, but there's only so much they can do, and I slammed
right into her. The front end of my car ended up hitting her front wheel.
Demolished the entire front end of my car, really all it did to her car was
bend the wheel. But, I guess the important thing is that the front end of
the probe is a crumple zone, and there is no crumple zone on the wheels of a
car. After the accident, I opened the car door, got out of the car, and
walked around perfectly fine while I waited on the police, fire dept,
ambulance, and wreckers to do their work. Needless to say, I walked away
from the accident without more than a scratch. The worst damage done to me
was from the airbag, it scratched up my chin a little and gave me a bruise,
plus the seatbelt bruised me around the collarbone. The other woman left on
a stretcher, in the ambulance. Her car probably had less than $2000 worth
of damage done to it. My car has to have around $8000 worth of damage.
It's a 93 base probe, so it's pretty much totaled. So I guess this is
goodbye guys. If you get in a wreck in your probe, you should be in good
shape, just watch out for that airbag. (ouch!) I miss my car... I just
went out looking at cars today, and I think I'm going to go with a Honda
Civic EX Coupe. Could you remove me from the mailing list? It's not going
to do me much good anymore, so I guess this means goodbye guys. It's been a
lot of fun, but it will be real fun having a car as customizable as a Civic.
:) Oh well...
