First I would like to say that I am more than very happy with the B&M shifter. Second, I'm planning on repacing the stock engine with a Jspec, I've got a '93 base and I'd like to install the KLZE for the extra 30 hp but as everyone knows it's not a direct replacement. How possible is this and $$$? My major concerns are that there aren't enough necessary provisions in my engine bay to mount a V-6 engine with relative ease and that the clutch housing won't mount properly to the KLZE. I've done engine swaps in the past and anticipate getting my hands dirty but I want to avoid having to buy hundreds of dollars of extra parts to make it fit. Thanks for any advice, Will Hauser

The KLZE is an extra 80hp not 30hp...our 4cyl have between 115-120hp, the V6KLZE has 200hp. There is a J-Spec 4cyl the FSZE that has 170hp at Corksport.com. The FSZE would be a lot better than the FSZE for our cars because it is a direct replacement.

One other note, I've got a manual... I believe that makes a drastic difference between the 6 and 4 cylinder clutch/engine bolt pattern Will Hauser

i think you want to get the FSZE. its is a I-4 not a v6 and it makes 170hp and about 140lbs/ft torque, and i think its a direct fit too. you can order at corksport.com. i want to get one of these, badly!!

Just read the page on the FS-ZE at CorkSport.... sounds great, only part I don't like is the little disclaimer at the bottom. "All engines are sold without warranty. Most engines are out of wrecked cars with low miles, typically less than 30,000." Anyone know where to get one new if possible? Or what's done to them to get near 170hp if their not factory made? Hate to sound like a whiner but for that kinda money I'd at least want some kinda guaranty that when I put it in that it's not going to instantly blow up past "All engines are tested before shipment" I know my engine has plenty of life left in it, but I'm also trying to keep my eyes open for when the time comes to swap it out. yeah I read the disclamer too. and didn't agree with it as well. The same thought came across my mind about the 170hp that they have, but the thing I don't like is how the 1.8 escort gt has 210 and ours only has 170??? Questionable if you aske me. That 1.8 has more hp then the v6. Like you i'm a little hesitante to dish out that money if i'm not sure the quality. Jose G P.S. Will keep my eyes open for everything.
