I'm thinking of getting some shorty headers for my '89 f-150 with a 302. mostly because they are about $190 compared to $400 and I can hold off on the rest of the system untill I save up more money. but someone somewhere said something bad about them that I can't rember. anyone know anything about shorty headders? are they worth it?

I put shorty's on my '89 351. The only problem I came across was high underhood tempuratures and a couple of brackets have to be modified. I sovled the underhood temp problem with an asbestos exhaust wrap. Final outcome was quicker throttle response and a slight increase in gas mileage. They are kind of a bitch to put on though, some of the header bolts are tight and access to the rear plugs is pretty limited.
