How hard is it to replace a slave cylinder? I checked to see if it was what was leaking and i'm pretty sure it is so i'm going to replace it. I need to take off the transmission and transfercase and wanted to know how hard it is. Also about how much does a slave cylinder cost for a ford 1990.

640...WOW! thats not chump change, if 2nd and 3rd are still grind n finds, I 'd bring it back to the mech for sure. If its any consilation, I broke a leaf spring @ about 103 mph yesterday during the course of moving myself... sec. 2 broke clean in half, so i tie down strapped it, got it home and saw zall'ed it off...back to normal, just a drastically reduced weight capacity temporarily. things usually happen beyond our control, just hang in there and let me know how everything goes... if i dont talk to you befor mon. HAPPY NEW YEAR. (make sure you depress the clutch completely while operating your ranger, if you try to puss foot it, that grind will remain..give yourself time to work out the kinks,,, still have a mech give the prob. a once over just in case.) redwanec

In the early 80's Ford used two different diesel engines if I am not mistaken I know one was a _Mitsubishi_ (http://motors.listings.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks_Mitsubishi_W0QQfromZR4QQ\ sacatZ6348QQsocmdZListingItemList) 2.2 liter.
