Hi,
I also added sound damping to my 5 doors, but I did it the cheap way.
Instead of paying an arm and a leg for specialized automotive damping
material, I spent about $40 on a sheet of dense 1" foam... the kind
you might use for cushions or upholstery. I just popped-off the door
panels and traced the shape of the cavity behind the panels with
paper. I then cut the foam using the template and popped them in. No
adhesive are required as the panels themselves hold the foam in place.
The whole job took about 2 hours. It hasn't silenced the car entirely,
but it has cut down on road noise a fair bit.
Cheers!
