Well right now I'm redoing the sound system in my crown victoria. I have a CB, PA, and a 12 disc changer. Along with sub woofers, amplifier, full suround sound, and equilizer. The system is starting out great! I love it. I just need to fine tun it and make some final connections. I was looking in my fathers garage cabinent and found some sweet 90 watt 5" subs, these these are as good as those 15" subs every talks about, and after that amp, all man is it going to shake and rumble! I like sond systems that do that, keeps me awake! LOL Laterz Blue Steel

if you want it to sound good...you are going to pay some money....jl audio, kicker, all the BIG name brand names on speakers will sound good...but if your income is minimal....then id go woth some pioneer subs...i myself have 2 sony explods - 10's and a boss riot 800 watt amp....sounds fine to me....i know it would sound hella better if i had an mtx, alpine, rockword fosgate, or any of the big name brand names...i tired putting 12's in the car and my 10's sound alot better....my next thing to do is change all the door speakers and throw an amp on them....the door speakers will def. be pioneer..and the amp might be as well....but in order to do that i need an equalizer...for multiple amps. because my head unit only has 1 pair of outputs.....so im looking at another 300-350$$$$$ just to do all that shit..then after i get the sound right going to engine......a long ways from here...lol....

You are doing the same thing I am but i got a late start.  I just got my car no more then 2/3 weeks ago.    My job pays out $200+ a week and I only have my $230 car payment and my $90 insurance so i have money to play with i am just waiting until i get my pay check this week to send it off for my payment.  I have played with a lot of cars in my days but never did a sound system so I am so confused when it comes to that.  Do you recamend a place for me to get all this?  Cause I have lots of places around her that i can go to so just woundering if i should try one place over the other?

I was thinking circuit city only because they know what they are talking about.... I found a lot of the stuff that i want to get over at circuit city so i am happy with that at least. So I will let you all know what happens when i get my system installed and everything :)  If you have any more thoughts on this feel free to email me anything THANKS

How much do you intend to spend on your head unit (deck)? Like I said, I spent about 150 on a Kenwood CD player that would do. The other question...how mechanically inclined are you? A head unit is easy to install nowadays. All you have to have is a kit, a wiring harness, a pair crimpers/strippers, and the connectors...you can go buy most of that stuff at Radio Shack. The installation kit has just about the only instructions you need. Now, if you don't mind it, go to Crutchfield....they send installation instructions with everything. They are a great place for the equipment and instructions.

It ia really neat.  It is on the circuit city web page here is a link for all to see.  I really like it and it is what i have been looking for.  circuitcity.com - SONY CDXM3DI - Sony XM™ Radio-Ready CD/MP3 Player with TFT Display and CD/MD Changer Controls There is the link for all to see.  YES i know it might be a weast of money but I really like it and when i like something i want to get it.... They have some that have full 7" screens on them and that is a WOW... I would not mind one of those but this should be fine.     Stephanie May

Sony is a good unit but $700 and from circuit city. I had got my 1st head unit from there and after the installation I had to take my car to the dealer to get the wiring redone. I have another car 96 Chevy Lumina went to Best Buy great install and Pioneer has never let me down, my honest opinion go with an Alpine, Blaupunkt or Pioneer. in my new car I have a Blaupunkt single CD MP3 with Disc changer.
