Does anyone know if Centurion only made 1/2 and 1 ton variants of the 4-door Bronco? I was looking for a 3/4 ton diesel or 460 a few years back, and couldn't find one. I found a 1988 1-ton 6.9L diesel, but wanted the turbo 7.3L since I was going to be towing in the mountains with it. (Already tried a 6500# trailer with a 1984 6.9L, and it just crawled along.)

Centurion only made the 150 and 350 variants. But there were other companies making 4 Door broncos on your truck and turn-key too, including "Magnum" so there might be a 3/4 ton out there...somewhere. Go see the yahoo group about these trucks: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/centurionconversions Or the Centurion site at: http://www.centurionvehicles.com The one ton was made from a crew cab/long bed. They chopped the frame just in front of the rear spring hanger and trimmed a bit off the back end. Added the rear sheet metal from a Bronco and topped it off with the fiber-top. The half ton was made from a standard cab/long bed. More sheet metal work than the 1 ton added the back doors and Bronco tail. The one ton came with a 460 or Diesel. The half ton came with the 351. Two and four wheel drive was available. Drive-lines were unmodified for the year of mfgt except for the rear driveshaft. Interior was a mix of OEM and aftermarket seats to make three rows. TV's/VCR's, rear A/C and lots of other "custom van" stuff was available. No dually rear axle came from Centurion that I know of...but was an easy upgrade for the 350 on the OEM one-ton rearend. You just had to buy the dually wheels and front axle spacer...then the fenders. Aftermarket units were available in the right size to clear the rear door. With OEM you had to cut/mold for the rear door. Want one? They are coming up on e-bay motor all the time...search for "Centurion" or "Centurian" and look beyond all the Buicks - hee hee. Steve
