i have 93 mx6 with a 2.0. I have added exhaust, header, and home- made cold air intake. The exhuast i did myself,i work at a local shop, i eliminated everything and added one muffler. It sounds great, dosent add much hp,2-5 i would guess, but the engine winds up quicker. The header also did about the same. The intake was the best 20 bucks ive ever spent and by far the best mod. Hope this helps you. Earl Stanley 93 Mazda MX-6 Atx to Mtx soon to come

That's strange. The headers should have added around 11hp, especially with the exhaust. What size pipes did you use?? The intake wont add but 2 or 3hp 99% out of the time, but since there are no actual dyno's proving hp we really dont know.

In all actuallity, yes the headers added the most hp. My exhaust is 2.25. The thing that i liked so much better about the cai was the engine revved up quicker. Plus the sound is great. By the way, i may be converting to a mtx but am worried it wont be worth the time or money.

Oh, the swap is worth it. Trust me. I  have 3 Probes, 2 are 2.0L's, one an auto, one a standard. The standard is just sooo much more fun and can actually take a beating. Hopefully, after I get my ATX back the buildup and tranny cooler will help it's longevity. But, even if it does it won't outlast a 5 speed. Just make sure the one you get to replace your ATX is in good shape.
