Hi Dan

I've been reading your posts in the other Escape club and I think it's great that you're trying to get more information about the stalling problem. Some people think the Escape/Tribute is wonderful and I'm happy with mine so far. But I won't be happy if it starts to quit on me in traffic, and I definitely appreciate any efforts by club members to identify the cause(s) and perhaps, by doing so, persuade Ford/Mazda to take this problem more seriously.

Rich

Another thought on the stalling problem affecting at least some unlucky Escape/Tribute owners -- perhaps we might make more progress identifying the cause(s) if we distinguish the different types of stalls. My sense from reading posts elsewhere on the internet is that there are a number of different reasons why Escapes are stalling and that we may be looking at completely different scenarios ... e.g.:

(1) stall when going down hill
(2) stall due to low base-idle
(3) stall due to poor quality relay

I guess, as a technician, this is nothing you haven't already thought of. But, for those of us who aren't technicians, trying to categorize potentially different causes of stalling may help to solve the problem more quickly.
